Huntington Frozen Four seeks participants, sponsors FOR RELEASE January 19, 2007 HUNTINGTON, IN—The first annual Huntington Frozen Four will hit the road on March 4. Organized by 2004 Huntington University graduate Rick Hammer, the four-mile race will start at 3:30 p.m. Registration will begin at 2 p.m. at the Huntington University Merillat Complex for Physical Education and Recreation. The Huntington Frozen Four will start and finish at the university’s fieldhouse, and the course will showcase many of Huntington’s downtown attractions including the Huntington County Museum, the Huntington County Courthouse and the Dan Quayle Museum. The first 150 entrants will receive Huntington Frozen Four T-shirts. Those who register by Feb. 15 will be guaranteed a shirt. There will be refreshments and an awards presentation at 4:45 p.m. in the fieldhouse. Showers will be available for all participants until 6 p.m. Awards will be presented to the overall male and female winners in the Frozen Four as well as to the overall age division winners. Age groups are as follows: 12 years and younger, 13 to 16 years, 17 to 20 years, 21 to 25 years, 26 to 30 years, 31 to 40 years, 41 to 50 years, 51 to 60 years and 61 years and older. Those who register by Feb. 15 will pay a $10 fee per runner. After Feb. 16 and through race day, the cost is $15. Sponsors include Running Indiana, Runner’s World, ETG, Fort Wayne Track Club, Huntington University and Road ID. Additional sponsors are needed for this event. Sponsorship levels include door prizes, bronze level ($75), silver level ($150), gold level ($300).
