Lutheran Hospital donates 12 beds to nursing program FOR RELEASE May 23, 2007
HUNTINGTON, IN—Lutheran Hospital of Fort Wayne, Ind., has donated 12 beds to Huntington University’s new nursing program. “Lutheran Hospital is pleased to donate beds to the nursing clinical lab at Huntington University,” said Diane Springer, chief nursing officer of Lutheran Hospital. “This offers nursing students the opportunity to grow professionally and personally as they pursue their career in nursing.”
The beds, delivered to the university today, are the same type used in Lutheran’s clinical care areas. They were placed in two classrooms in the newly renovated lower level of the Science Hall, eight beds in one room and four in the other. “I would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to Lutheran Hospitals for the generous donation of 12 hospital beds and for their support of the nursing program at Huntington University,” said Margaret Winter, director of the nursing program. “The beds will be of tremendous benefit to the clinical learning lab and enable students to learn in a realistic hospital environment. This will help to increase student confidence and skill before being placed in the hospital setting. This generous gift will assist students in the nursing program for many years to come.”
