Stearns named Forester Athlete of Week FOR RELEASE October 29, 2007
HUNTINGTON, IN—The Huntington University Athletic Department announced its Athlete of the Week for the week of Oct. 22-28. Women’s volleyball senior Stephanie Stearns earned the honor for her outstanding effort during the week’s competitions. Stephanie Stearns, a business accounting major from New Castle, Ind. (New Castle Chrysler High School), helped lead Huntington to a 2-0 week with her play as the Foresters’ defensive specialist. She led the team in digs in both of Huntington’s wins with 23 against Grace College and 20 against Manchester College. She currently leads the Mid-Central Conference with her 6.5 digs per game. The Foresters (20-6) will next host Indiana Wesleyan University in their final regular season conference match on Oct. 31 at 7 p.m. Huntington University is a comprehensive Christian college of the liberal arts offering graduate and undergraduate programs in more than 70 academic concentrations.
