Michelson, O'Donnell receive October Peer Awards

FOR RELEASE October 5, 2007

Brad Clampitt passes the Peer Award to Jean Michelson.

HUNTINGTON, IN—Recipients of the Huntington University Peer Award for the month of October are Jean Michelson and Professor James O’Donnell.

Brad Clampitt, Call Center/computer lab coordinator, passed the Peer Award to Jean Michelson. Michelson is circulation coordinator and has been with the university for 13 years. In recognizing Michelson, Clampitt said,” Jean is dedicated to serving students, faculty, staff and everyone she comes in contact with at Huntington University. I have worked with her a great deal over the past few weeks while the library laptops were being replaced. She shows great attention to detail and is always concerned that every question someone might have is answered. Jean really shows a heart for others, and it is a joy working with her.”

Brent Kuster, network/broadcast engineer, passed the Peer Award to James O’Donnell. O’Donnell is associate professor of business and executive-in-residence and also has been with HU for 13 years. In recognizing O’Donnell, Kuster wrote, “First a professor, now a friend – Jim O’Donnell has for a long time been interested in seeing students and colleagues seek a closer relationship with Christ. Quick to move beyond the typical exchange as you might pass a person on the street – ‘How ya doing?,’ ‘Fine, you?,’ ‘Fine’–  without losing a step, Jim wants to hear the real answer and takes the time to listen. As a humble journey-man, Jim walks along with me and encourages me to deepen my walk with Christ, helps to bear my burdens, and is refreshingly interested in helping me to develop as a person, husband, and professional. I appreciate Jim’s encouragement.”
