Foundation president elected to state senate FOR RELEASE April 2, 2008
HUNTINGTON, IN—Travis Holdman, president of the Huntington University Foundation board of directors, was elected to the state senate March 31. Holdman fills the seat left vacate by the passing of Sen. David Ford. His swearing-in ceremony, conducted by Supreme Court Chief Justice Randall Shepard, will be at 11:30 a.m. on April 11 in the Senate Chamber of the Statehouse in Indianapolis. Holdman’s district, No. 19, covers portions of Adams, Wells, Blackford, Grant and Allen counties. Holdman serves as an ex-officio member of the Huntington University Board of Trustees for his role as president of the foundation. He is an attorney in Fort Wayne, Ind. Holdman earned a Doctor of Jurisprudence from Indiana University, a Master of Science from the University of St. Francis and a Bachelor of Arts from Southeast Missouri State University. He serves on several local boards and volunteers for EQUIP, an organization founded by John Maxwell to effectively support Christian leaders around the world with training, resources and encouragement. Holdman resides in Markle, Ind., with his wife Becky.
