Davenport, Johnson named Athletes of Week FOR RELEASE January 19, 2009
Huntington, Ind.—The
Huntington University Athletic Department announced its Athletes of the Week
for the week of Jan. 12-18. Women’s basketball senior Lauren
Davenport and men’s track senior Nick Johnson earned the honor for their
outstanding efforts during the week’s competitions. Nick Johnson, an exercise science major from Huntington, Indiana (Huntington North High School) turned in an outstanding performance at the Ohio Northern University Invitational. Johnson won the 5000 meter event with a time of 15:23.80 which meets provisional qualifying standards to compete in the NAIA Indoor Track National Championships in early March. Johnson also finished second in the one mile run with a time of 4:27.20. The Foresters will next travel to Taylor University on Feb. 7 for a 10 a.m. start.
