Allwein to perform senior recital

Abigail Allwein

Huntington, Ind.—Huntington University senior Abigail Allwein, a theatre major and music minor from Fort Wayne, Ind., will perform her senior recital at 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 24 in the Longaker Recital Hall of the Merillat Centre for the Arts.

Allwein will be featured on the HU stage as “Marian Paroo” in “The Music Man” in November. She has been seen as “Jane” in “As It Is In Heaven,” “Meg March” in “Little Women: The Musical,” “Kathryn” in “Radium Girls,” “Crystal” in “Little Shop of Horrors,”
“Lamar” in “Godspell,” “Della” in “The Gift of the Magi,” and in the ensembles for “Shakesperience” and “The House of Bernarda Alba.”

Allwein has performed professionally with Stephen Foster Productions in Bardstown, Ky. She was seen as “Gussie” in “Stephen Foster: The Musical,” a vocal soloist in “Smokey Joe’s Café” and the understudy for “Mary Jane” in “Big River: The Musical.” She plans to pursue a career in musical theatre performance following graduation.

Allwein also has been a part of the concert choir throughout her four years at Huntington University and is currently studying voice with Joni Killian, adjunct faculty in the Department of Music.

The recital is free and open to the public.
