Alumnus to host book signing for 'Infamous Murders'

FOR RELEASE September 21, 2009

Huntington, Ind.—Huntington University alumnus Dr. Robert Girod will host a book signing for his latest release, “Infamous Murders and Mysteries: Cold Case Files and Who-Done-Its,” at the Barnes & Noble in Fort Wayne’s Jefferson Pointe Shopping Center from 7 to 9 p.m. on Sept. 24.

Girod earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology from Huntington in 1980.

From the author of “Profiling the Criminal Mind” comes these true stories of cold cases and true mysteries. This collection of adventures from the files of a career police detective and university professor takes the reader inside the mysteries and murders that intrigue the author and make the reader listen for “things that go bump in the night.”

Dr. Robert Girod received a Ph.D. in criminology and public administration from the Union Institute and University and a post-doctoral certificate in leadership from Harvard University. He is currently pursuing a J.D. at Thomas M. Cooley Law School. He has also earned an M.S. in criminal justice administration, a B.G.S. in Social and Behavioral Science, a B.A. in sociology, and an A.S. in criminal justice, as well as a technical diploma in Forensic Science.

Girod has served in law enforcement for almost 30 years with the Fort Wayne Police Department, U.S. Marshals Service, Indianapolis Police Department, Indiana University Police Department, Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation, Indiana Department of Insurance and Wells County Prosecutors Office. He also has served as a captain in the U.S. Army Reserve in the U.S. Army Criminal Investigations Command and as a major in the Indiana Guard Reserve. He has been a professor at seven universities, including Indiana University and Boston University.
