Physical Education
Teacher Education (PETE) program The PETE core curriculum provides students with numerous field experiences, cultivating the candidate's experiential and cognitive repertoire in: physical education teaching pedagogy, personal motor skill development, a multiplicity of teaching methodologies and classroom management strategies, teaching diverse populations, and personal and professional communication development. The small class environment nurtures personal and professional relationships, creating a cohort embedded in and committed to professionalism, a Christ-centered standard of living, and an exemplary lifestyle of wellness. It is the desire of those teaching in the Department of Kinesiology and Recreation Management to develop future physical educators who will strive to elevate the credibility of physical education, and advocate for its existence as a necessary part of a child's growth and development.
