philosophy department

The philosophy department at Huntington University engages in examining the basic assumptions on which all our knowledge and beliefs are built and in seeing how the world fits together. Students are trained to think deeply and critically for a variety of different fields.

Philosophy is outstanding as a pre-professional major for students planning on graduate study in law or theology. It also provides intellectual training for any field of study.

Research shows that philosophy majors typically score higher on graduate school entrance exams, including the GRE and LSAT.

Alexander gives paper

Dr. David Alexander, assistant professor of philosophy, gave a paper at the Annual Evangelical Philosophical Society in San Francisco on Nov. 17 titled "Divine Command Theory and the Intensionality Problem." He also gave a paper in absentia at the University of Oxford on Sept 15 titled "Internalizing Plantinga.

2011 Forester Night honors students, faculty

Forester Night celebrated the accomplishments of students from across campus, as well as the recognition of the Foresters of the Year, the 2011 Outstanding Scholar Award, the Impact Initiative Scholarship and the Professor of the Year.
