Jody Davenport, instructor
in physical education, has passed the comprehensive exam and will now begin
the final step of writing her dissertation. She is a candidate for a Ph.D.
in post-secondary and adult education from Capella University in
Minneapolis, Minn. (February 2008)

Feb. 7-8,
Jody Davenport, instructor in physical education, attended the annual
gathering of the Higher Education Meeting for Indiana Health & Physical
Education Professionals at McCormick’s Creek State Park. The purpose of the
meeting was to share program ideas, discuss professional issues pertinent to
physical education teacher education (PETE) specialists, and to revisit
issues relating to PETE standards and student assessment. Also,
presentations demonstrating the use of software to augment program and
student assessment, student teacher feedback, and monitor undergraduate
development, revealed contemporary methods of technology integration.

recreation management students recently completed
internship experiences from all parts of the world including Fort Wayne
Wizards Baseball Program; Huntington YMCA; Camp Living Waters in Luther,
Mich.; Youth Works in New York City, N.Y.; Sports Outreach in Uganda and
Rawanda, Africa; and an experience in Bogata, Columbia.
