Nate Reusser, 2005

Nate Reusser started Reusser Design LLC when he was in high school and ran it through college. Today, he employs several web designers in the upper floor of a large brick building in the quaint town of Roanoke, Ind.

The company works with organizations, marketing and branding them through the web. This includes designing websites, email and domain management and website consulting and training, among other services.

He also partnered with HU to start Clear Elevation, the first business started through HU Ventures, Inc.

The small business management program at Huntington University will help cultivate your entrepreneurial spirit and give you the skills necessary to be successful in a small business.

They will be trained in Cultivating Ideas, Building a Team, Marketing a Concept, Creating a Business Plan, Securing Start-up Financing and much more. Applied work experience will occur in a dedicated space on campus where students foster their own ideas or are assigned to teams that work on projects for clients.

Through the Fast Forward program, students will be challenged to build concept teams, develop commercially viable ideas, present plans to potential investors and network with fellow entrepreneurs. In addition, the $1 million Lilly Endowment grant will help fund the development of winning business plans.

Skills to Be Your Own Boss

The number of small businesses in the U.S. has increased by almost 50 percent over the past 20 years. There are approximately 22 million small businesses today. At Huntington University, you will gain the analytical and problem-solving skills necessary for success.

You will take classes in a variety of academic disciplines, including management, accounting, economics, office administration and mathematics. You will develop business competence along with technical skill. You will receive a strong academic preparation using the same technology you'll encounter in the workplace. You will graduate with a broad, well-balanced education that expands your career opportunities and prepares you for graduate study.

Mentored by Business Professionals

As a Huntington student, you can be mentored by successful business professionals through a variety of internship opportunities. Through our  Executive-in-Residence Program and Visiting Executive Seminars, you will wrestle with contemporary business issues alongside fellow students, faculty and regional business leaders.

Your classes will not be taught by "graduate assistants," which is common at most larger universities. Instead, you will be individually instructed by exceptionally credentialed faculty who will challenge you to think critically, work diligently and integrate faith with your studies.

You will be challenged by classroom discussions with students, professors, and visiting executives from a wide range of backgrounds and experiences. You will learn alongside other students majoring in accounting, economics and finance, business education, management, and marketing. The department also offers minors in marketing, accounting, economics and finance, entrepreneurial small business, and management.
