Our Chinese School

By BISHOP M. WRIGHT

The Chinese school at Walla Walla, will begin its second year about October 1st. Rev. C. W. Wells and Mrs. Wells are regarded by the people here, in the church, as well as by the ministers and people of Walla Walla Conference, as being the right persons in the right place, as teachers in the school. The school is under the control of a board of trustees elected by the Walla Walla Conference. At the conference session though at a late and wearied hour, the best hour having been lost somehow, many having gone away, $115 were raised to carry forward the school. Over half the amount needed to carry the school through another year has been raised. Bishop Castle raised about $105 at Indiana Conference, and Bishop Wright had raised about $42 before, mostly in cash, (by written solicitation) besides that raised by him at Walla Walla Conference. About $250 more is yet needed, which, we trust, liberal friends will not be slow to give.
