*The minutes give the date of this General Conference as
May 7, but Christian Newcomer in his journal says the General
Conference convened on June 7. S. S. Hough in his 1941 edition,
Christian Newcomer His Life Journal and Achievements, says "the fact
that the Eastern conference was held in Adams county, Pennsylvania, May
10, and the Muskingum at Mount Pleasant, Pennsylvania, May 23, that
same year, as reported by Newcomer and by the minutes of these
conferences, there is good reason to believe that Newcomer was correct
in reporting June 7th, 1825, as the date of *The minutes give the date
