Greg Wasson

Assistant Men's Soccer Coach

Greg Wasson joins the Forester men’s soccer program as a first year assistant coach. Wasson will assist Coach Lawson in a variety of capacities with his main focus on training and tactics of defense.

Wasson brings more than five years of experience to the position, having spent time coaching at John Hanson Middle School as the girls’ head coach as well as Blackhawk Christian School where he was an assistant varsity coach for the boys’ program. He has also served as an assistant coach for the Fort Wayne Fever, Boys U-9 & U-10.

The Fort Wayne native graduated from Wheaton College in 1999 with a BA in religious studies. As a student-athlete at Wheaton, Greg enjoyed a successful career in soccer. He was a member of the 1997 Thunder squad that brought home an NCAA Division III National Championship.

During his collegiate years, Wasson had the opportunity to serve on a soccer project with Athletes in Action. He also played for Abbottsford Action, a PDL team in Canada and was part of a soccer ministry trip to France during the 1998 World Cup.

Wasson enjoys spending time with his five-year old daughter Annabelle and recently moved back to the area to work on his Masters in Counseling at HU.
