Dr. John T. Noble Assistant Professor of Bible & Religion Director for the Centre for Non-Western Studies Dr. John T. Noble joined the HU community in fall 2012. He holds a BA from Taylor University, the MDiv and MA from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, and the AM and PhD in Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations from Harvard University. His dissertation investigating the literary and theological functions of Ishmael in the Abrahamic Covenant was accepted with distinction and is now in preparation for publication through a Huntington University Research Fellowship. Dr. Noble also serves as the HU Director of the Centre for Non-Western Studies (promoting interdisciplinary research and teaching linked by a shared common interest in Non-Western politics, culture, and society). As a graduate teaching fellow, he taught in several core courses at Harvard, with topics ranging from the Book of Job to Homeric Epic and to Reason and Faith. Dr. Noble’s ministry experience includes prison chaplaincy, New City Scholar mentoring at Gordon College, and children’s and adult education classes in his local church.
