2011 MCC softball tournament

Huntington, Ind. - The bracket has been released for the 2011 Mid-Central College Conference Softball Tournament, hosted by Grace College at the City-County Athletic Complex in Warsaw, Ind. Tournament play is scheduled for May 4-5 with a rain date set for Friday, May 6.

Bethel (32-7), the MCC regular season champion for five of the last six seasons, will enter the eight-team, double elimination tournament as the No. 1 seed.

The MCC Tournament champion will receive an automatic bid to the NAIA Softball National Championship at the Gulf Shores Sportsplex in Gulf Shores, Ala., May 19-25.

First round action gets underway on Wednesday, May 4 at 10 a.m. when Bethel and No. 8 seed Grace (9-30) meet on Field 1. Also at 10 a.m. Wednesday, No. 2 seed Huntington (25-5) meets No. 7 seed Goshen (13-19) on Field 2. Scheduled for noon on Field 1 is the game between No. 3 seed Marian (32-7) and No. 6 seed Spring Arbor (22-22). The noon game on Field 2 pits No. 4 seed Taylor (18-20) against No. 5 seed Indiana Wesleyan (21-21).

Tickets for the MCC Tournament are $2 for students and $5 for adults. Each ticket purchased will serve as an all-day pass for that particular day of the tournament.
