Foresters notch first win

After falling behind 2-0 to Bluffton University, the Foresters bounced back to tie the score in regulation and then got the game winner in the fifth minute of overtime to notch their first win of the season.
The Beavers netted their first goal at the 20:39 mark of the first half and then went up 2-0 with a score two minutes into the second half. HU continued to battled and finally got on the board in the 81st on when Steven McKay finished a Brad Kunze pass.

With a little over a minute remaining in regulation, HU's Adam McLaughlin was taken down in the box and the Foresters were awarded a penalty kick. Kunze connected and evened the score at 2-2 to force the extra period.

In overtime, HU immediately put the pressure on Bluffton. In the fifth minute, Kunze took a shot and it hit the post. McKay was there to knock in the rebound for the game winner.

“I'm so proud of the team and the effort they put forth today," said Coach Lawson. "They were determined to win and they finally found a way to break down Bluffton’s defense. It was a tremendous win! “

With the win, the Foresters move to 1-2 on the season.
