Huntington, Ind.— Huntington College Head Baseball Coach Mike Frame has announced that Liberty Center High School standout Greg Slee has signed a letter of intent to attend Huntington College this fall. The senior catcher hit .400 with 21 RBI in 1999. Greg is the son of Kathy and Lee Slee of Liberty Center, OH.
“We are very excited that Greg has decided to continue his education and play baseball at HC.” Says Frame. Catching was one of our priority areas in our recruiting and he will make an impact for us right away. He is a solid receiver behind the plate and he throws very well. He also will make an impact swinging the bat from the left side. He broke his hand early this season and saw limited action this spring, but this will not prevent him from making a contribution for us right away. He is going to be an outstanding college catcher and we are excited to have him be a part of Forester Baseball.”
Huntington College is a member of the Mid Central Conference (MCC) and the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). Huntington has captured the MCC season regular season championship or conference tournament championship 27 times in 41 years. The Foresters have also had eight former players go on to careers in professional baseball, including three in 1988.
