The Foresters continue their winning ways picking up two wins over the weekend. In Friday night action, HU shutout Holy Cross 3-0. George Halim recorded HU’s first goal of the weekend on an assist from Adam McLaughlin at the 11:53 mark. Four minutes later James Holliday made it 2-0 off an assist from Taylor Zeman. Zeman was part of HU’s third goal, this time finding Steven McKay for the final score of the game. The Foresters finished with 16 shots on the game compared to 10 for the Saints. Keeper Kevin Keske had four saves on the day.

Playing on back to back days, the Foresters squeaked by Calumet College of Saint Joseph 1-0 on Saturday. Both teams had trouble finding the back of net through much of game but with just over two minutes left, Steven McKay connected on a pass from Kurt Sanders to record HU’s game-winning goal. The Foresters outshot the Crimson Waves 15-13. Keske finished with five save.

“This was a fantastic weekend for the guys,” said Coach Lawson. “We came into the weekend knowing we were going to be challenged physically and mentally. I’m proud of the boys. They fought, laid it on the line for each other and played as one.”

HU moves to 8-1 on the season and will travel to Grace College on Wednesday.
