Christian author to address ‘changing the world’ during Forester Lecture Series

Huntington, Ind. — Christian author Dr. Will Samson will address “Can Christianity Change the World?” during the Forester Lecture Series at 7 p.m. Oct. 26 in the Zurcher Auditorium of the Merillat Centre for the Arts on Huntington University’s campus.

Samson is the author of “Enough: Contentment in an Age of Excess” and co-author, with his wife Lisa Samson, of “Justice in the Burbs.” He also serves as an assistant professor of sociology at Georgetown College, Georgetown, Ky. His academic research explores the areas of religion and social movements, food and the environment, and sustainability.

Samson is a self-described scholar-activist “with one foot in the academy and one foot in the work of Christian mission,” according to his website. Samson is also a member of the American Academy of Religion, the American Sociological Association, the Appalachian Studies Association, the Society for the Scientific Study of Religion, the Society for the Study of Social Problems and the Southern Sociological Society.

The Forester Lecture Series is designed to bring interesting individuals and topics to the attention of students and the regional community. The Forester Lecture Series is free and open to the public.
