Fetters named Professor of the Year

Huntington, Ind.—Rev. Luke Fetters, assistant professor of ministry and missions, was awarded the distinguished Professor of the Year honor at the 34th annual Huntington College Forester Night, held on May 3, 2005. The award, voted on by the student body, is presented each year at the Forester Night ceremonies.

Fetters joined the Huntington College Ministry and Missions faculty in January 2000. He holds both a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Master of Christian Ministries degree from Huntington College as well as a master’s degree in Intercultural Studies China from Wheaton College. Fetters has served the Church of the United Brethren in Christ in numerous ministry roles, including youth pastor, associate pastor for education, senior pastor, church planter and missionary. He has been instrumental in the establishment of three local churches and the United Brethren Mission in Macau (Peoples Republic of China) where he lived with his family from 1986 until 1997.

Fetters also understands the administrative side of ministry, having served as field director of a multi-cultural leadership team in Macau and as the executive assistant to the president at Huntington College from 1997 through 1999. During his time in Asia, Fetters was involved in teaching English as a second language and served as a TESL (Teaching English as a Second Language) consultant to school districts in the Peoples Republic of China. He is currently working on his Ed.D. in Adult and Community Education at Ball State University.
