Huntington, Ind.— Larry Jackson, chief actuary at Brotherhood Mutual Insurance Company in Fort Wayne, Ind. will give a presentation titled, “Count On It,” on Friday, March 5, at Huntington University. The seminar will address the mathematical nature of the actuarial career and what Jackson describes as "the unexpected twists and turns which one can count on in a career and in life."
Jackson's presentation is part of the Gerald D. Smith Lecture Series in the Natural and Mathematical Sciences. The program will begin at 4 p.m. in Hiner Hall, located on the second floor of the Science Hall. (Map) The lecture is free and open to the public.
Jackson received a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics in 1982 from Huntington University and a Master of Arts degree in Actuarial Science from Ball State University. He has over 20 years of experience in the insurance business.
Mathematics is among more than 70 academic concentrations offered by Huntington University.
