The Forester ran at the Malone College Short Course Open and the men came in second behind the NAIA top-ranked Malone Pioneers.
Malone had runners claim six of the top eight spots to win with a team score of 18 followed by HU (58), Walsh (95), Marian (107) and Ashland (155).
Running the 6K course, Nick Johnson paced HU with a fourth place finish in 19:04 and Joseph Njeri was sixth in 19:29. Dan Lindbloom finished 10th in 19:45, Joseph Herber was 16th in 20:08 and Alec Rosario was 22nd in 20:41 to round out the scoring for the Foresters. Other HU runners competing were Josh Barnett (36th, 21:48), Luke Andrews (41st, 22:39) and David Boyer (47th, 23:56).
"This was a very good run for our men," said Coach King. "Malone is ranked #1 in the NAIA, but they are even better than that. They beat Ohio State this season, so they're the best team in Ohio."
On the women's side, only four Foresters competed in the meet, so no team score was reported. Jill Roughia was HU's top runner finishing 15th in 16:54. Bradie Vance was 29th in 18:12. Molly Shirey came in 37th in 18:54 and Joanna Stebing finished 46th in 19:44.
Malone made it a sweep winning the women's event with a team score of 22 followed by Walsh (52), Ursuline (88) and Marian (122).
