On the second day of the MCC Tournament, HU beat Goshen College 2-1, but then fell to Spring Arbor University 2-0 to get knocked out of the tournament. The loss closed the books on the Foresters' most successful season on record with 27 wins against 18 losses.
In the Goshen game, Amy Clem gave the Maple Leafs a one-run lead with a homerun in the top of the second. HU tied the score with a run in the third and then got the game-winner in the bottom of the sixth.
Lauren Ward earned what would be the final victory of her Forester career. She went the distance allowing one run on four hits and two walks while striking out 10. Ashley McCann had two hits and a RBI to lead HU at the plate in the contest.
The Foresters out-hit Spring Arbor 7-2 in the last game of the day, but couldn't get the timely hits they needed as they stranded 11 baserunners throughout the seven innings. The Cougars plated a run in the third and fourth which was enough for the win.
Molly Long took the loss for HU. She threw four innings and allowed two runs, one earned, on two hits and a walk. She finished with four strikeouts. Seven different Foresters had a hit with Brittney Bateman getting the only extra-base hit with a double.
