Huntington, Ind. - The Foresters competed at the Trine University Indoor Track Invitational where both the men and women finished third in their respective standings.
The women brought home four first places finishes for the evening. Josann Schoeff took top honors in the 60 meter with a time of 8.26. She also finished second in the 200 meter with a time of 27.90. Crossing the line first in the mile was Cendall Ogle with a time of 5:39.40. Mariah Town's leap of 4.65 meters in the long jump earned her a first place finish. The distance medley relay team of Diamond Setterber, Krystal McHenry, Miranda Boyts and Bradie Vance won with a time of 14:39.78.
Other top three finishers included Holly Lutton in the 60 hurdles (2nd, 10.12), Rachel Bayon in the 60 meter (2nd, 8.44) and 200 meter (3rd, 28.99), Krystal McHenry in the 1,000 meter (3rd, 3:25.81), Miranda Boyts in the 5,000 meter (2nd, 21:05.84) and Bradie Vance in the 5,000 meter (3rd, 21.30.55). The 4x200 relay team finished second in 1:53.38 and the 4x400 relay team finished third in 4:37.45.
Spring Arbor took the women's team title with a score of 166 followed by Defiance (140), HU (117), Grace (69.50), Trine (53.50), Saint Francis (50.50), Goshen (15.50) and Indiana Tech (5).
On the men's side, Joseph Herber turned in the Foresters' top performance with two first place finishes. He took the top spot in the mile with his time of 4:25.01 and brought home top honors in the 1,000 meter with a winning time of 2:38.17. Todd Fiedler was the only other Forester to bring home gold with his leap of 6.47 meters in the long jump.
Other top three finishes included Federico Olaosebikan in the 1,000 meter (3rd, 2:53.70) and Lance Wood in the 5,000 meter (3rd, 15:51.71). The distance medley team finished second in 11:43.35.
Trine won the men's event with a score of 162.25 followed by Defiance (159.75), HU (97), Grace (53.50), Saint Francis (37.50), Three Rivers Racing (22) and Goshen (16.50).
