HUNTINGTON, Ind. - The Forester volleyball capped off the week by going 1-1 at its own tri-match on Saturday to move to 3-13 on the year.

HU opened up the day against Davenport University where Coach Settle went head-to-head against one of her former players, Panther head coach Megan Lenhart, and it was the understudy who coached her squad to a 3-1 victory over the Foresters, 25-22, 23-25, 25-18, 25-13.

With this win, the Panthers (17-3) extended their win streak to ten thanks in large part to their dominance at the net where they logged 18 team blocks to HU’s nine.

Heather Medich led a balanced HU attack with ten kills. Melissa Grossman and Brittany Rooze each finished with nine kills while Kaylee Searles added eight.

Jensen Carnahan directed the offensive by dishing out 32 assists. Katie Bowers and Medich finished with 18 and 13 digs respectively.

The Foresters bounced back to cruise past Purdue University North Central in three, 25-16, 25-13, 25-21.

As the stats attest to, nearly every Forester contributed to the win. Medich continued her hot hand at the net to finish with seven kills as did Kelsey Kruse and Searles. Codie Morey dished out 30 assists in the winning effort while Bowers tallied 11 digs to pace the defense.

Searles finished with three solo blocks while assisting two others to take charge at the net. As a team, HU recorded six blocks to the Panthers’ two.

Huntington jumps back into conference action Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. when they host Grace College.
The Huntington University Foresters compete in 16 intercollegiate sports for men and women.
