The Foresters got back on track at the Taylor University Tournament going undefeated in three matches to win the tourney title.
In its first match, HU lost a 19-12 lead in game one against Trinity Christian College and fell 31-29. At the change-over, the Foresters re-grouped and picked up their defensive intensity which gave them a chance to run a quicker offense. The momentum shifted and HU took the next three games 30-25, 30-28, and 30-13 to win the match. Amy Wilson dominated at the net with 23 kills. Tiffany Malfait added 13 kills and team-high totals with four blocks and six aces. Kellie Hanson dished out 54 assists and Stephanie Stearns added 14 digs and four aces.
HU's second game was a re-match with MCC foe and host Taylor University. The Trojans jumped out to a 12-5 lead and cruised to the 30-20 win. In games two and three, Wilson came to life to rally the Foresters to a two games to one lead with wins of 30-27 and 31-29. Taylor evened the match with a 30-26 win in game four. In the deciding game, HU took the lead early and never allowed the Trojans any closer than three points in the 15-11 win. Wilson finished the match with 22 kills and a .527 hitting percentage, two blocks and 16 digs. Heidi Christner had 13 kills and two blocks. Hanson had 57 assists and two aces, while Stearns lead the team with 18 digs.
In their final match of the tournament, the Foresters downed Trevecca Nazarene 30-25, 30-22, 29-31, 30-15 to complete their sweep and grab the tourney title. Wilson continued her stellar play with 23 more kills and 17 digs in the match. Renee Biberstine added 17 kills and two blocks. Hanson had 55 assists and two aces, and Stearns added 34 digs. Wilson and Biberstine were both named to the All-Tournament team.
The Foresters pushed their winning streak to four in a row and now stand at 13-8 on the season.
