After picking up two wins in doubles, the women were able to split the singles matches to edge Bethel for the 5-4 victory.
HU had three double winners on the day. Stephanie Strong and Raelyn Althoff teamed for the 8-5 win at #1 doubles. Strong easily disposed of Bree Oles 6-2, 6-1 at #1 singles while Althoff outlasted Jade Walus 6-2, 4-6, 6-2 at #2. Jessica Deter, the third double winner in the match, paired with Kendra Ganz for the 8-2 win at #2 doubles and then took down Carrie Edison in straight sets 6-3, 6-3 at #4 singles.
“I have really been pushing them to play better doubles and they definitely showed up today,” said Coach Turner. “I was especially pleased with the way our doubles teams worked together during their matches. I'm seeing a marked improvement.”
With the win, the Foresters improve to 3-1 on the season and 1-0 in the conference.
