Huntington has experienced a history of success under the leadership of Head Coach Tom King. Both the men’s and women’s cross country teams have competed in the NAIA National Cross Country Championships numerous times.
Huntington University competes in the Crossroads League. Huntington University is also a part of the National Intercollegiate Athletic Association (NAIA) and its Champions of Character program.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced its 2014 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar Athletes and among the list of honorees were five Huntington University runners. In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status to qualify for this honor.
