ITS Student Receptionist - Fall 2019

The Information and Technology Services department seeks to fill 2 positions this Fall for an ITS Student Receptionist.

10-15 hours per week, Monday through Friday between 5 pm - 8 pm.

Duties include greeting guests that arrive in IT Services and assess their needs.  Create and assign Help Desk tickets as needed.  Assist IT Services Office Manager as needed.

Basic computer skills required and ability to communicate well in person and over the phone.  Good written communication skills also required.

Ability to install printers on client machines, and ability to connect computers and smart devices to a wireless network preferred.

Summer Student Worker - Maintenance

40 hours per week - Monday through Friday.  

Collecting trash and recycling, moving furniture and supplies, putting salt in softeners, various other maintenance jobs including painting and grounds keeping.  Position requires occasional climing, stooping, crawling, lifting, pulling and pushing loads of 50 lbs, carying and climbing and reaching both high and low.

New Student Orientation Mentor

Office of Student Success/Enrollment Management has several openings for New Student Orientation Mentors.

New Student Mentors will help us 1) welcome our new students in April and June Registration Weekends, 2) return early to campus on Monday, August 19 for Mentor Training on August 19 – 21 and campus preparation, 3) join the Faculty Alpha Group Leaders for training on the 21st, 4) help lead the Alpha Groups for August 22 – 25th and 5) help lead the next five Friday Alpha Group Sessions and activities.

New student orientation is packed every day from August 22nd to the 25th as we meet, welcome and help 270 new students make a significant transition to our campus. The next five weeks allow our Mentors to share a deeper and more individual time with our new students helping them to understand the college experience by 1) facilitating group activities, 2) initiating and developing individual relationships, 3) encouraging academic, personal and spiritual success, and 5) directing students to appropriate campus resources.

As we work together to help our new students, our new students will hopefully gain a deeper and more vivid personal sense of purpose, belonging and mattering at HU.

American Sealants Inc. is looking for a Graphic Design Intern with strong skills in the Adobe Creative Suite to create graphics and content for various marketing materials including; brochures, sales sheets, website, product labels, etc. As a Graphic Design intern, you will work with marketing to generate ideas and goals for these materials and then use your tools and knowledge to create finished products.

 

The position is part-time with flexible hours and pays $12 per hour. We are flexible on when these hours are worked but we ask for them to be within 7 a.m. – 5 p.m. ET window at our offices so that you can discuss needs, ideas and get feedback from marketing. The duration of the internship will depend on the completion of the projects.

 

Here are a few things you can expect to do as our Graphic Design Intern:

•Transform copy and old literature into effective and visually stimulating pieces for our ASi Brand

•Create graphics and design product literature/packaging to reflect the vision of our ASi Brand

•Updating the ASi website with content, pictures, how to videos, etc.

 

Here are a few requirements we expect the Graphic Design Intern to meet:

•Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop) without oversight

•Excellent knowledge of MS Office

•Strong communication skills, both in writing and speaking

•Pursuit or completion of a Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design or similar program
