Admission Requirements

To be considered for admission to Huntington University's graduate program in ministry, please supply the following information. Once this information is received, the admissions committee will review your application and process you towards acceptance.

Application

The application to HU's graduate ministry program can be completed online. If you would prefer a paper application, please email graduate@huntington.edu or call 800-600-4888. 

Official Transcripts

Request official transcripts from the college/university awarding the highest degree you have completed. These transcripts must arrive via mail or electronic submission directly from the college/university. An undergraduate cumulative GPA of 3.0 is required for full acceptance. 

Academic Prerequisites

To be eligible for full acceptance into HU's graduate program in ministry Pastoral Leadership, your undergraduate work needs to include:

  • 6 credit hours of coursework in Biblical studies, including both Old Testament and New Testament
  • 3 credit hours of coursework in Theology

If you do not currently have these prerequisites met, you can still be accepted into HU's graduate program in ministry on a conditional basis. We can assist you in completing these requirements.

Recommendations

Submit two recommendation forms, one pastoral/spiritual mentor reference and one character reference.

Writing Samples

Please submit a 2-3 page essay in response to each of the following:

  1. Describe your salvation experience and sense of calling to ministry.
  2. Why are you pursuing a graduate degree in ministry?
  3. Describe your experience in ministry.
