Andy Vaught has been serving as the resident director of Wright Hall since 2012 and recently added Miller Hall to his areas of responsibility in the fall of 2017. The Huntington native came back to his alma mater after graduating magna cum laude in 2006 with a degree in biblical studies and earning his MA in student affairs administration in higher education from Ball State University in 2007. He then worked as the director of middle school and college ministries at College Park Church in Huntington for three years before joining HU as an admissions counselor for two years. He also served as an international student advisor for four years while at HU.
In addition to his work in Student Life, Vaught is also the assistant coach for HU’s men’s tennis team. When he is not working, you can find him spending time with his wife, Hillary, and his extended family, golfing, watching or coaching tennis, and playing ping pong with HU students.
Men's Tennis Assistant Coach
Andy Vaught enters his 6th season as an assistant coach for the HU men’s tennis program. As a varsity letter winner for the Viking tennis team at Huntington North High School, Vaught will look to put his playing experience to good use under head coach Kreg Eckert. His responsibilities will include assisting with practices several times a week as well as providing support to players on and off the court.
Vaught graduated from Huntington University in 2006 with a BA in Biblical Studies. In addition to graduating Magna Cum Laude from HU, he was also named the Outstanding Student in the Bible Department as a senior. He went on to earn his MS in Student Affairs Administration in Higher Education from Ball State University.
A native of Huntington, Vaught is currently the Wright Hall Resident Director and International Student Advisor at Huntington. He and his wife Hillary, also an HU alum, reside in Huntington, Ind.
