Dr. Wanous supports the faculty in their work as teachers and scholars. He provides leadership in the hiring of new faculty, faculty development, curriculum, assessment, accreditation, and investing in current academic programs and new program development.
He believes in the value of the liberal arts and in creating an environment where faculty and students can explore the integration of Christian faith within their disciplines.
Prior to coming to Huntington University, Dr. Wanous served in several positions at Augustana University in South Dakota, including Professor of Biology and Associate Academic Dean.
Wanous holds a Ph.D. in Genetics from the University of Missouri, an M.S. in Plant Breeding from Texas A&M University and a B.S. in Agronomy and International Agriculture from the University of Minnesota.
Dr. Wanous serves on the CCCU Commission for Chief Academic Officers; the board of directors of the American Conference of Academic Deans; and the board of directors of Daystar U.S., which supports Daystar University, a Christian liberal arts university in Nairobi, Kenya.
