Assistant Women's Soccer Coach

Gia Casaburo enters her second year as an assistant for the women’s soccer program. Casaburo’s responsibilities include assisting with practices, recruiting and coaching the JV program.  She brings several years of coaching experience to the position.

Casaburo is currently a club coach at the Fort Wayne Sports Club where she works with U-11 and U-15 girls’ teams. Her resume includes coaching her U-11 girls’ team to a league title in 2015. Casaburo has also been an active coach at the Notre Dame women’s soccer camps for the past number of years.

Casaburo graduated from Earlham College in 2015 with a degree in Human Development and Social Relations as well as College Honors. She was a three-year starter for the Quakers after transferring from Campbell University, an NCAA Division I program in North Carolina.

At Campbell she helped lead her team to the finals of the Big South tournament. She earned all-conference and academic all-conference honors her junior and senior year and was team captain as a senior at Earlham. While at Earlham, Casaburo was a three-time scholar athlete. She was also voted Defensive Player of the Year her junior and senior seasons.

A native of Fort Wayne, Casaburo was selected to the IHSAA All State Team her junior and senior years at Bishop Dwenger High School where she was a four-year member of the honor roll and a member of the National Honor Society. Casaburo was a three-time First Team All-Conference selection. She competed for Indiana as a member of the Olympic Development Program and was also a member of the Indiana state team for four years and a member of the Midwest regional team for a year.

Casaburo is currently working on her masters in Marriage and Family Counseling at IPFW where she serves as the vice president of the Chi Eta Sigma Honors Counseling Society.
