Joe Santa joined Huntington University as an adjunct instructor for the business department in 2015. He previously spent 23 years as a high school athletic administrator.
He began his career at Fort Wayne Canterbury High School before moving on to Huntington North High School for 17 years and Warsaw Community High School for three years. During his tenure as an athletic director, he was active in the national and state athletic director’s association, presenting at two national conferences and four state conferences. He authored seven articles for national athletic administration periodicals. From 2009 to 2010, he was elected to a term on the Indiana High School Athletic Association Board of Directors.
A lifelong resident of Huntington, he graduated from Ball State University with a BS in secondary education before receiving his master’s degree in physical education from Western Illinois University. He also received his Secondary School Administration certification from Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne in 2001.
He also works for Huntington University’s athletic department serving as game administrator for many contests including soccer, volleyball, basketball, softball and baseball.
