Assistant Men's and Women's Cross Country Coach
Luke Diehl enters his 8th year as an assistant coach for cross country. As part of the coaching staff, Diehl has responsibilities that include assistance at practice, administrative duties and recruiting.
Having graduated from HU in 2010, Diehl was a four-year member of the cross country and track teams. He was a runner on the 2007 cross country team that finished twelvth at the NAIA National Tournament. He also made his presence known at the national level in track where he competed in the NAIA National Championships each of his four years.
Diehl’s most noted for his success in the 3000 meter steeplechase. A three-time competitor in this event at Nationals, Diehl’s highest finish came his senior year when he placed 20th. He holds the HU record in the 3000 meter steeplechase with a time of 9:12.73. Diehl also excelled in the classroom having earned NAIA Scholar-Athlete honors his final two years in both sports.
Diehl serves as the pastor of student ministries at First Church of God in Columbia City, Indiana, where he and his wife Sara and son Grant reside.
