Luke McConnell began working as HU’s global studies specialist in 2016. His job allows him to work as an admissions counselor for international students and to assist other on-campus international programming, such as teacher trainings and partnerships with international entities.

McConnell became familiar with different cultures by visiting 12 countries before he graduated from college.

He turned his tassel to become an HU alumni in spring 2016. He obtained a bachelor’s degree in Christian ministries.

Before coming to HU, McConnell served as the director of community engagement for Habitat for Humanity. When he was a student, he conducted an internship with the Amway’s community relations department.

McConnell was involved all across campus during his time as a student. As a sophomore, he was student body president. His favorite memory was being a part of the winning synchronized swimming team during Olympiad.

The Michigan native currently resides in Huntington with his wife, Lydia. In his free time, McConnell enjoys running, biking and backpacking. The couple attends College Park Church.
