HUNTINGTON, Ind. – The HU men’s soccer team suffered their second straight loss in league play, a 2-0 tilt to #24 Spring Arbor University, Wednesday afternoon to drop to 2-2 in the conference, 4-7-1 overall.

For the Cougars, it marks their fifth shutout of the year as they improve to 9-2-2 overall and remain the only unbeaten team in Crossroads action at 3-0-1.

While the bright spot for Huntington was limiting SAU to just 12 shots on the day, half of which were on frame, it wasn’t the type of play Coach Lawson has come to expect from his crew. “The bottom line is we just weren’t good enough in all areas today.

“Credit Spring Arbor - a fantastic side - but we didn’t allow our quality to show through and that’s disappointing. We’ll look to rebound and I know the boys will be eager to get after Mount Vernon on Saturday.”

HU posted ten shots with Marcos Salinas collecting three which included the only shot on target while both teams registered four corner kicks. Buzzard finished with four saves and took the loss in net for Huntington.

The Foresters travel to Mount Vernon on Saturday for a 7:00 p.m. matchup with the Cougars.

The Huntington University Foresters compete in 17 intercollegiate sports for men and women. In the past decade, Huntington has produced 38 NAIA All-America honors and 254 All-America Scholar Athlete honors. Huntington University is a comprehensive Christian college of the liberal arts offering graduate and undergraduate programs in more than 70 academic concentrations. U.S. News & World Report ranks Huntington among the best colleges in the Midwest.
