HUNTINGTON, Ind. – Huntington University head coach Doug Gower and the Forester softball program are excited to welcome Northwestern High School standout Sophia Beachy to their roster in the fall.

A four-year starter for the Tigers, Beachy has batted over .300 each season and played multiple infield positions throughout her prep career. She led her team in doubles and triples last year and for her efforts earned Mid-Indiana Conference honors as a third baseman.

Beachy also spent four years as a starter on the Tiger basketball team that ranked 5th in Indiana in Class 3A this past winter. When not on the diamond or hardwood for Northwestern, the Kokomo native is active in her church youth group and has spent her summers playing for the Howard County Thunder. She is also a member of the Student Athletic Leadership Team at NHS and has been named to the honor roll throughout her high school career.

Beachy is one of seven sibling. She is the daughter of Lester and Lori Beachy of Kokomo, Ind.
