HUNTINGTON, Ind. - Huntington University senior Kate Cobb earned this week’s Crossroads League Defender of the Week honors as announced earlier this morning.

Last week Cobb averaged 5.2 digs per set to help guide the Foresters to a pair of conference wins. The Elkhart native posted a pair of 20-dig matches including a 22-dig effort in HU’s 3-1 win over Saint Francis.

The 5-5 defensive specialist is one of the best in the business as she currently ranks 11th in the NAIA in total digs (266) and 36th in digs per set (5.12). To date, Cobb has 2,059 digs as just the second Forester in program history to go over the 2,000-plateau.

The Foresters are currently 8-6 overall, 3-1 in Crossroads League play for a share of 2nd place in the standings.

The Huntington University Foresters compete in 17 intercollegiate sports for men and women. In the past decade, Huntington has produced 38 NAIA All-America honors and 274 All-America Scholar Athlete honors. Huntington University is a comprehensive Christian college of the liberal arts offering graduate and undergraduate programs in more than 70 academic concentrations.
