GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – After playing even with their hosts through the first half, the HU women’s soccer team gave up the game’s first goal within the opening minute of the second half on their way to a 2-0 loss to Cornerstone University at CU Soccer Stadium.

The Golden Eagles (2-0-1) found back netting again in the 58th minute to wrap up the scoring and enjoy their second shutout of the year. When all the dust settled, Cornerstone finished with 21 shots, nine of which were on frame. While CU got the job done offensively, their defense was equally impressive as they limited HU to just two shots on the night.

Paige Coolman went the distance in goal. The junior keeper tallied seven saves and was tagged with the loss. HU drops to 1-3-1 on the year.
