EXCEL program to offer classes in Fort Wayne

Huntington, Ind.-In February, the Huntington University EXCEL Adult Degree Programs will begin offering classes in Fort Wayne, Ind., adding a fourth location to the program's sites which currently include Huntington, Columbia City and Wabash.

Classes will take place at the ExecuTrain building on 7337 W. Jefferson Blvd., offering one associate and four bachelor's degrees programs. The associate group will start on Feb. 9 and the bachelor's on Feb. 25.

Along with the new location comes a new partnership. EXCEL will work with ExecuTrain, offering continuing education credits for some of their trainings, which focus primarily on computer related courses.

"EXCEL's partnership with ExecuTrain is an opportunity to take the mission of Huntington University to a broader constituency," said Dr. Rick Upchurch, director of EXCEL. "We believe that EXCEL's offerings and the strong reputation of the university provide a beneficial option to adults seeking to complete their college degree, and we are excited about offering these benefits to the students of Southwest Fort Wayne."

EXCEL offers evening classes tailored to the schedule of most working adults. Classes are held one night per week, one subject at a time. Classes last five to eight weeks and lead to an associate degree in organizational management or bachelor's degrees in accounting, business administration, human resource management or not-for-profit leadership.

EXCEL also offers the Gateway Program through which adults can take continuing and general education classes for personal enrichment or toward the completion of a college degree. As a student-focused program, EXCEL provides a high quality business education enriched by Christian ethics and perspectives. Many of these classes may be taken in an online format.
