CELINA, Ohio. - The Forester men’s basketball team hit the road for the first time this year to cruise to a 92-68 win over Wright State University Lake Tuesday night at the Auglaize-Mercer County YMCA. The 24-point spread is HU’s largest margin of victory to date this season.

It was a night where all of Coach Platt’s crew saw action with five Foresters logging double digits. Tyler Arens led the visitors with 25 points on 9-for-13 shooting which included knocking down three of his four three-pointers. He also corralled 12 rebounds, five of which were offensive, to enjoy game-high rebounding honors as well.

Just like Arens, Konner Platt and Mason Coverstone each canned three triples on their way to scoring 18 and 17 points respectively. Mike Bush added ten points in addition to doling out a game-best eight assists. Trevor Lockwood came off the bench to toss in ten points, grab six boards and swat two shots.

The Foresters shot nearly 57 percent from the field by going 33-for-58 for their best shooting performance of the year while limiting the Lakers to just 39.5 percent (32-for-81). HU also won the battle of the boards 40-35 but it was Wright State who took better care of the ball by committing eight turnovers to Huntington’s 17.

After playing even with their hosts through the opening ten minutes, the Foresters turned up the heat to jet out to a 47-34 advantage by halftime. The second half was more of the same as Platt’s crew outscored the Lakers by 11 to blow the game wide open for the lopsided win.

Wright State was led by Isaac Clay with 13 points off the bench. Quincy Green and Zakarius Milhouse also subbed in to score 11 and ten points respectively as the Lakers’ bench accounted for 43 of their team’s 68 points.

HU has beaten the Lakers three times over the last three years by an average of 29.3 points.

With this win, the Foresters improve to 3-3 on the year. Next up is the Terry Polston Hoops for Hope Classic hosted by Grace College over the weekend. The Foresters will face Clarke University on Friday at 4:00 p.m. before taking on Grace Bible College at noon on Saturday.
