HUNTINGTON, Ind. – Earlier this month, Huntington University baseball coach Mike Frame was inducted into the Nettle Creek Schools Athletic Hall of Fame.

Hagerstown High School recognized the 33-year Huntington veteran for his accomplishments as a coach and athlete dating back to his playing days as a Hagerstown Tiger.

A four-year letter winner in baseball, Frame also earned three letters in basketball and two letters in football during his prep career. As a pitcher/third baseman for the Tigers, he was a three-time All-Conference honoree and capped off his high school career as an Eddie Hoover Award recipient.

Frame then took his talent to Huntington College where he was a four-year starter in baseball. He helped guide the Foresters to two conference championships and earned an All-Conference badge in 1983.

A year after graduating from Huntington, Frame took over the reins at his alma mater where he has served for the last 33 seasons. The Indiana Baseball Hall of Famer has racked up 805 wins against 666 losses.

Frame’s resume at HU includes three trips to the NAIA National Tournament with the most recent this spring where the Foresters made it to the finals of their Opening Round. During his tenure, Huntington has claimed eight regular season conference titles and just as many conference tournament titles.

Frame was inducted into Huntington University’s Hall of Fame in 2003 and has been honored as the conference Coach of the Year five times in addition to being named NAIA District and Area Coach of the Year once.

Coach Frame and his wife Diane have three children Thad, Heath and Cora.

The Huntington University Foresters compete in 17 intercollegiate sports for men and women. In the past decade, Huntington has produced 38 NAIA All-America honors and 254 All-America Scholar Athlete honors. Huntington University is a comprehensive Christian college of the liberal arts offering graduate and undergraduate programs in more than 70 academic concentrations. U.S. News & World Report ranks Huntington among the best colleges in the Midwest.
