HUNTINGTON, Ind. – The Forester softball program has added more talent to its 2017-18 roster with the signing of Jackson Northwest High School standout Mallory West.

The 3-year varsity starter has done a little bit of everything for the Mounties with her most notable contributions coming at the mound as a left-handed pitcher. Last spring she finished the season with 175 strikeouts and enjoyed a 1.89 ERA.

West also made a name for herself at the plate where she hit .479 last year and logged 12 doubles, six triples and three homeruns. Over the course of her prep career, she has earned All-Conference and All-District honors in addition to being named to the 2015 Citizen Patriot Softball Dream Team.   

During her time in red and black, West has also played basketball, volleyball and ran cross country while maintaining a 3.89 GPA which has landed her Academic All-Conference accolades.  

West is the daughter of Mike and Kristy West of Jackson, Mich.

The Huntington University Foresters compete in 17 intercollegiate sports for men and women.
