Dr. Beth Burch, associate professor of biology, passed the Peer Award to Wendy Gower. Gower is the technology services office manager and science building supervisor and has been with HU for four years.

In recognizing Gower, Burch wrote, "Wendy is very helpful to me. She is amazing at un-jamming a sometimes temperamental copier. Periodically she finishes a copying job for me when the machine gives me fits and then delivers the finished product to my classroom. She also is a good message-deliverer; if no one is available in my department, I phone Wendy and ask her to pass on information to someone in the building. I appreciate her gracious and gentle manner and willingness to help when situations get sticky. Thanks, Wendy, for helping to make the rough spots a bit smoother."

Cathy Trout, administrative assistant to the vice president and dean of the university, passed the Peer Award to Carlene Peters. Peters is the campus visit coordinator and has been with the university for 23 years.

In recognizing Peters, Trout said, "Our family has recently been on a few college visits, and it was definitely an eye-opening experience. I was struck by the quality of HU's campus visits and with the details and care that are given to making each visit a positive experience in some way. Carlene and the admissions staff do a great job of providing campus visit opportunities and then making sure that all of the arrangements are made for the visit, including meals, places to stay, class visits, as well as meetings with professors and others on campus. All of us have seen groups of visitors walking around on a tour but probably don't realize the planning process of a college visit. The visit begins with Carlene. I want to thank Carlene for a job well done!"
