HUNTINGTON, Ind. – Huntington University junior Christiana Hicks is inarguably one of the Crossroads League’s top track and field athletes as evidenced by her third Athlete of the Week badge this spring.

Hicks earned this week’s Female Field Athlete of the Week as announced by the Crossroads League yesterday afternoon for her performance at the league championships last week.

The Fort Wayne native (Snider High School) established a new PR in triple jump with her mark of 37-11.25 to not only successfully defend her triple jump crown from a year ago but also set a new school record. The previous record was held by Anita Whybark dating back to 1992. The two-time All-Conference honoree also ran the last leg of the 4x100 meter relay team that took first at the conference meet.

Hicks will represent HU in triple jump and the 4x100 meter relay at the NAIA National Championships slated for May 26-28. She is currently the 18th seed in triple jump while her relay team boasts that same spot.
The Huntington University Foresters compete in 17 intercollegiate sports for men and women. In the past decade, Huntington has produced 39 NAIA All-America honors and 234 All-America Scholar Athlete honors. Huntington University is a comprehensive Christian college of the liberal arts offering graduate and undergraduate programs in more than 70 academic concentrations. U.S. News & World Report ranks Huntington among the best colleges in the Midwest.
