INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The HU women’s golf team spent two days in Indianapolis competing in the Marian University Spring Invitational where they finished eighth by posting a 770 (393, 377) at the Broadmoor Country Club.

After shooting a 99 on Monday, Betsy Schroeder bounced back to fire an 86 to finish with a team-best 185 good for 32nd place overall. Rachel Blauert finished second for the Foresters with a 188 (92, 96). Leah Thompson carded a 197 (102, 95) while Sophie Frazier (100-100—200) and Alayna Steely (116-110—226) rounded out Huntington’s score.

Reily Vore played as an individual and turned in a 234 (120, 114).

““We are a very young team that is still learning how to score without having to play our “A” games,” said Coach Pete Schownir. “It will come with time. The talent is there.”

Cardinal Stritch fired a 649 to claim the title followed by Lindsey Wilson (658), Marian (660), Saint Xavier (680), Taylor (685), Holy Cross (721), Spring Arbor (758) and HU (770).  

The Foresters are back in action this weekend to compete in the IU Kokomo Cougar Intercollegiate.

The Huntington University Foresters compete in 17 intercollegiate sports for men and women.
