PERU, Ind. - The Forester men’s golf team hosted its own invitational at Rock Hollow over the weekend to kick off the season. It was a picture of consistency for Coach Sholund’s crew as they fired a 320 on Friday and followed up with a 319 on Saturday to start and end at the No. 5 spot.

At HU’s No. 1 spot, Cale Carr posted 156 (74, 82) to finish 8th overall out of 47 golfers. Andrew Weisheit tied for 14th by carding a 158 (80, 78). Zakry Cummings shot an 82 and 81 for a 163 good for a share of 26th place while Luis Esteban (90, 78) and Chandler Rang (84, 97) recorded a 168 and 181 respectively for the Foresters.

“There were a lot of positives for the team this weekend,” said Coach Sholund. “The big numbers hurt us but it’s early in the season and we are focused on learning from that.

“We are looking forward to preparing for our next event.”
